Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Study and evaluation of various civil engineering materials related to earthworks, pavement and structural concrete;
2. Review and process material submittals on raw materials and final mixes to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications;
3. Provide technical support and assistance to material engineers on construction projects during the material approval and testing process and ensure work is done correctly and in compliance with the specifications;
4. Analyze material issues and defects to better understand the causes of problems and come up with better and more innovative solutions;
5. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to assess the environmental exposure conditions and provide the necessary recommendations for durable concrete;
6. Prepare specifications and technical documents and reports and update of master specifications.

Education and Professional Skills:

1. Bachelor s degree in civil engineering (master degree in material engineering is preferred)
2. 4-12 years of experience in materials engineering;
3. Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts in materials related to soil, structural concrete and asphalt concrete specially in the field of Polymer Modified bitumen, Superpave mix design, self-consolidated concrete, precast concrete, high performance concrete, recycled material, etc
4. Strong computer skills including the use and manipulation of databases and spreadsheets.
5. Solid analytical and communication skills.
6. Strong English written and oral communication skills.
7. Dedicated and ready to work efficiently under workload pressure
